Start at the front hairline, take the tape measure above and behind your ear, then go around the nape of the neck, above and behind the other ear, and back to the front hairline. Next, you will measure from ear to ear, going just above the ear, over the highest point on your head, and then to the other ear. Finally, measure from the front of your head, starting at the natural hairline, then go back over the highest point on your head, and end at the nape of your neck.
